Professional Staff

Our staff is carefully chosen, each teacher being well qualified for their particular position. All staff members are experienced early childhood educators. All participate in a continuous program of in-service education and studies for professional advancement. The entire staff has been through T. Berry Brazelton’s Touchpoints training. Our directors hold degrees in child development have had specialized training in administration. In addition, members of our staff are affiliated with following professional associations:

1. NAEYC - National Association for the Education of Young Children

2. SACUS - Southern Association for Children Under Six

3. NACCP- National Association of Child Care Professionals

4. High Scope Educational Research Foundation



Parents Advisory Committee (PAC)

The involvement of our PAC is vital to the success of Discovery School. We seek advice and input from this committee made up of you, the parent. Concerns range from school policy, improvements and special programming to teacher appreciation, fundraising and family support. Parents meet monthly for a coffee meeting. Volunteers are always welcome and are utilized in the classroom as well as the office. You are invited to be as involved as you would like to be.
