Philosophy
Discovery School's objective is to provide positive "hands-on" learning experiences that foster spiritual, intellectual, social and physical development in preschool children.

Specifically, we offer:
- Active exploration that promotes meaningful growth in math and literacy concepts.
- Experiences with real materials that encourage learning that is relevant and knowledge that is usable.
- Opportunities to learn self-regulation and self-reliance.
- Growth in self worth through the development of social skills and repeated opportunities to be successful.
- Growth in the Christian faith
Discovery School celebrates its 25th year of serving the community with the 2006-2007-08 school year. We are a Christian Preschool and Kindergarten, and conduct classes three days each week. School is held weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m., August through May.
Discovery School has been accredited for many years by the NAEYC.
Beginning with the 2007-08 school year, we have elected to become accredited through SACS, (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).
Children are accepted beginning at age 18 months. Early placement on our waiting list is recommended, as the school has a high profile and each age group maintains a long waiting list.
The school follows the High Scope Approach to preschool education, a curriculum model that is based on 4 decades of substantial research.
